Published continuously since the New Deal City of Greenbelt was founded in 1937, the News Review is delivered free to most Greenbelt residents. In 1970 we won a landmark First Amendment case in the Supreme Court.

We are receptive to the ideas of our public for stories. These may be individual, related to council or anything else that directly affects one or more Greenbelters. We do not publish national-scale articles whose impact on Greenbelters is the same as that for everybody anywhere. So, for example, the FBI HQ not coming to Greenbelt is national news with impact here. School Board activities may well have impact here.  

We also welcome Letters to the Editor. We expect such letters to be polite and to the point, 300 words or fewer, and also directly relevant to Greenbelt life. We do not accept letters about commercial wrangles with local vendors or personal disagreements with Greenbelt businesses.

Phone is answered in person only during office hours (301) 474-4131. Phone messages left at other times will be responded to during the next office session. Emails are also responded to during the next office session. Email is preferred.

Items dropped through the office door mail slot should be clearly labelled for Ads, Editor or Business and include contact information.
