Published continuously since the New Deal City of Greenbelt was founded in 1937, the News Review is delivered free to most Greenbelt residents. In 1970 we won a landmark First Amendment case in the Supreme Court. 

Contribute

Your financial contributions to the News Review are most gratefully received, but you should know that they are NOT tax-deductible, as we are a worker cooperative and not designated by IRS as a 501(c)(3) charitable organization. 

You may contribute online via this page or by downloading and filling out a paper form with a check (see #1 below).

Contributions may be made in multiple ways: 

  1. Check: This is preferred as it is not subject to fees. Pay Greenbelt News Review and send to Greenbelt News Review, Suite 100, 15 Crescent Road, Greenbelt, MD 20770. Checks may also be hand-carried to the office during its open hours of 2 to 4 p.m. Monday and Tuesday or dropped in the door slot at any other time. Please write “Contribution” in the memo area. Fill out the paper form downloadable by clicking here. (For monthly payments: in your online banking bill-pay service, enter the above News Review mailing address and choose a recurring payment frequency of monthly. )
  2. Zelle: Send to Business@GreenbeltNewsReview.com and add the word Contribution to the message. (For monthly payments: choose a recurring payment frequency of monthly.) 
  3. Square: Enter the amount you wish to contribute in the box below and click Confirm. You will be transferred to the Square system to make payment.  Square charges us a processing fee of 3.3% of the dollar amount plus $0.30; we welcome your including that cost in your contribution.
    Square is available only via this page’s online contribution. Monthly payments are not recommended due to recurring Square fees.

Gifts may be picked up at the office during regular hours of Monday and Tuesday, 2 to 4 p.m. with ID or proof of payment.
Please fill out the form and click SUBMIT to complete the contribution process unless you are filling out a paper form to go with a check.

We offer three incentive items: a refrigerator magnet ($10 donation or more) or a coffee mug or tote bag (donation of $52 or more), or all three items for donations of $120 or more. Please indicate your choice in the comments below (or opt for no gifts if you prefer).   

Square charges us 3.3% of your donation, plus $0.30 per transaction. Please consider adding the equivalent fee to your Square donation, or paying with cash, check or Zelle. The News Review and the residents of Greenbelt thank you for supporting our rare and precious newspaper.

Place in the mail slot in the door or knock on the door for access during office hours Monday and Tuesday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. If you wish to use Zelle, enter “Zelle” in the comment block below. You will need to go separately to your Zelle provider (it’s not linked to our pages) and send the payment to Business@GreenbeltNewsReview.com. In the Zelle interface please make a note that this is a contribution.
