Venturing Crew 746 Holds Annual Winter Wonderland

Venturing Crew 746, a co-ed Boy Scouts of America program for youth aged 14 to 20, is hosting the Fourth Annual Winter Wonderland on Saturday, December 7. In 2023, the event featured Santa and his firetruck, a lighted woodland walk, community groups’ winter-themed displays with activities and giveaways, model trains and hot cocoa with treats. This quickly growing annual tradition is an important fundraiser as well as a community event. The crew uses all proceeds to directly impact local teens by investing in equipment and youth leadership training opportunities and funding a crew scholarship to allow every youth to participate regardless of financial ability. The 2023 event saw over 300 guests enjoy live performances, friends around the campfire, visiting with Greenbelt fire and police personnel, Santa and the woodland lights. The 2024 event will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. at 40 Ridge Road and is supported by the Greenbelt Rotary and Mowatt Memorial United Methodist Church. Entry donations are requested. For additional information, contact Liz Murray, crew advisor at venturecrew746@gmail.com or visit the crew website at venturecrew746.org.
