Kaiser Health Plans Accepted At Doctors Hospital, October 1

Persons insured in Kaiser Permanente health plans will be accepted as patients at Doctors Community Hospital beginning in October, it was announced at the Greenbelt City Council’s stakeholder worksession with hospital representatives on August 28. Doctors will be the only hospital in Prince George’s County affiliated with Kaiser, which has 150,000 members in the county, according to Paul Grenaldo, the hospital’s chief operating officer, who made the announcement. Doctors expects to receive 15 admissions daily from Kaiser, he said.

U.S. News and World Report has ranked the hospital as high performing for the treatment of heart failure and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), Grenaldo noted, adding that for the fourth consecutive year the hospital has been recognized by the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association for quality of patient care and outcomes for stroke patients.

Grenaldo introduced Dr. Darlene Jean-Pierre, one of two new orthopedic surgeons with Capital Orthopedics, a part of the hospital system.
