Greenspring Ladies Cookie Drive Aids County Women

On December 15, The Ladies of Greenspring 1 held their annual cookie exchange/donation drive co-hosted by Eulalie Lucas and Janice Davis. The group was formed over eight years ago primarily as a cookie exchange among neighbors but the focus has since changed to a donation drive supporting women or family shelters in the metropolitan area. The group made contributions for many years to Mt. Carmel House for women in Washington, D.C. This year Shepherd’s Cove Shelter in Prince George’s County was selected. Over 20 gift bags were delivered to this shelter thanks to the group’s children who felt the need to join in. The group hopes to inspire other neighborhoods to help where there is a need.
