Greenbelter Helps to Register New Voters in Greenbelt West

Franklin Park resident and author Ric Gordon has had a vision to promote political activism in his home community since he was young. Last Saturday, Gordon rallied with city council members, political candidates and interested Greenbelters in the Beltway Plaza Mall to bring his dream to reality. Together, they helped fourteen Greenbelt West residents register to vote and increased awareness of the 2020 census to hundreds of mallgoers.

“It just takes a spark to light a match,” Gordon said.

The OneVoice rally brought in Mayor Emmett Jordan, Councilmembers Judith Davis and Colin Byrd, State Delegate Alonzo Washington, retired Councilmember Konrad Herling, and Hyattsville City Councilman Joseph A. Solomon, among others. They spoke about the importance of voter registration and participation in the 2020 census.
