Greenbelt Station Celebrates Holidays in Its New Park

The Greenbelt Station neighborhood was thrilled to be able to use their central park for its first official event, a holiday party on Saturday, December 15, organized by the Activities Committee of the homeowners association.
About 130 Greenbelt Station residents braved the rainy weather to celebrate the holidays in a heated and (reasonably) dry tent, the biggest turnout for a neighborhood event in the neighborhood’s history. In addition to food, conversation and general camaraderie, there was a raffle for gift cards (always useful this time of year), a holiday sweater contest and a collection of coats and cold weather gear to be donated to a local elementary school. Greenbelt Recreation also provided a city information table, helpful for the many newcomers in the neighborhood.

Neighbors enjoyed food, music and conversation in the warm, dry confines of the tent.
A map of Greenbelt shows orange highlighted areas to the north and east of the municipal city limits. Area 1, at the northwest, is labeled WMATA and USDA Land. Area 2, at the northeast, is labeled USDA Land. Area 3, at the east, is labeled USDA and NASA land.

The City of Greenbelt has rescheduled a public hearing on proposed annexation resolutions. The new date is March 9, 2026
