Thanks to the generosity of our readers, the News Review has exceeded our donation drive goal of $25,000. Last week we were on the threshold and a large donation (from someone who wishes to remain anonymous) pushed us well above our goal. The total as of October 28 is $31,206.33.
The outpouring of support from our community, in words and in money, has been deeply gratifying. You proved your support and generosity in a big way. We can’t thank you enough for helping ensure a more stable financial future.
We will salute our donors by listing their names in our anniversary issue, launching our 89th year of weekly publishing, on November 27, appropriately the Thanksgiving issue. Any additional donors can be recognized if we receive their donation by close of business Monday, November 17.
Those who wish to donate and pick up their gifts can come to the office in the Community Center, Suite 100, Mondays and Tuesdays from 2 to 4 p.m. Use the News Review’s outside door, up a few steps from the east parking lot (the door faces Crescent Road), or our interior door in the short hallway to the left just beyond the stairs inside the east entrance.
All are welcome to come by, make a donation and receive a gift. Car magnets are available for any gift of $10 or more. For a donation of $52, you also have a choice of a mug or tote bag (these bags are great for the Farmers Market, we’re told). And for a $120 donation, you can receive all three items.
Thank you for supporting your local, independent newspaper, says Editor Mary Lou Williamson for the Board.
