Published continuously since the New Deal City of Greenbelt was founded in 1937, the News Review is delivered free to most Greenbelt residents. In 1970 we won a landmark First Amendment case in the Supreme Court.

At the Old Greenbelt Theatre: A documentary searching for Alice Guy-Blaché, who, at 23 was the world’s first female director, became a powerful figure in film from the late 1890s to 1919, then vanished. Featuring images from films more than 100 years old and interviews with modern-day filmmakers and academics, it is both a tribute and a detective story, tracing how an extraordinary artist faded from memory and how she was rediscovered.
