ACE, City Recognize Outstanding Educators in Greenbelt Schools

The 2017 Advisory Committee on Education (ACE) Educator Awards were presented at the March 13 Greenbelt City Council meeting. Janet Mirsky, ACE treasurer, introduced the presentation and summed up selected ACE accomplishments. This year is the 22nd for ACE Educator Awards. Leta Mach, ACE’s city council liaison and Rosalind Ceasar, the city’s staff liaison to ACE, were recognized. ACE, formed in 1994 with an updated charter in 2007, serves as a link between the community and council to promote high quality schools for Greenbelt. This year, ACE has sponsored reading clubs at two Greenbelt schools and has awarded 20 grants, totaling more than $8,000, to provide educational opportunities beyond the school curriculum.  For more on this story, click here.
