Accident Near Library

On December 3 at 1:15 p.m., Greenbelt police officers responded to a report of a vehicle collision at the pedestrian underpass near the Library. A white, Mercedes SUV had rolled over on its top on the pedestrian path below the street. According to Major Thomas Kemp of the Greenbelt police, the vehicle had been travelling past the Library when it struck a curb, hit the guardrail, went down the embankment and flipped over. Of the two passengers in the car, one was transported to UM Prince George’s Hospital Center with non-life-threatening injuries and the other received minor injuries that did not require immediate medical care. According to Kemp, no other vehicle was involved. Police are still reviewing the incident.
