Mini Golf at the Community Center

Mini Golf at the Community Center
Gwyneth McElhenny, age 4 (front) and Mariella McElhenny, age 7, make obstacles for the mini golf course, helped by Miss Greenbelt 2016, Julia Sharapi.

Participants in the Greenbelt Recreation Department’s August 6 Community Art Drop-in created artistic obstacles for a miniature golf course. Creations included elaborately painted animals, trees made from strips of old maps, and structures with ramps and tunnels made from other recycled materials.

The workshop was led by Amanda Larsen, arts education specialist, who also contributed a golfable miniature replica of the Old Greenbelt Theatre. The golf greens will be used again during the Greenbelt Labor Day Festival, with a new obstacle-making workshop to be hosted by Greenbelt MakerSpace.

Theo and Zoe Larsen play mini golf at the Community Art Drop-in on Sunday at the Community Center.
